Headway Natal held an Open Day on Friday October 27, in commemoration of International Stroke Day. International Stroke Day was on Sunday October 29. The objective of Headway Natal’s Open Day was to raise awareness on stroke prevention and showcase services Headway-Natal offers.

A talk on stroke and acquired brain injuries was conducted by Dr. Nadvi, Neurologist from St. Augustines Hospital. The many attendees were highly engaged by Dr Nadvi’s talk and were given the opportunity to ask stroke related questions.

Nurses from Life Heath Care Westville Hospital were also present, conducting blood pressure testing at no charge. This was followed by a tour of the Headway Natal centre while in operation.
Refreshments were on sale at the main coffee bar for attendees. Headway Natal’s Charity Shop was also open for attendees to browse and purchase items for sale.
